"I believe that our hands comminucate with our hearts very well. I see it as a sign of affection for a bronze to have it's patina rubbed off with touching."

St. Louis is a wonderful place for a Someday-Artist to grow up. There are exquisite examples of bronze and marble sculpture throughout the city, in storybook settings of formal gardens, and timeless architecture. This was the earliest source of Bonnie's artistic inspiration.

Bonnie's mother was a Ceramist, so it was natural that she should always have clay at hand (and in hand...) She is self-trained as a sculptor, but enjoys workshops where she can learn from other sculptors whom she admires.

Living in the North Carolina mountains in the 80's and early 90's, Bonnie raised a daughter, and twin sons. This presented an excellent opportunity to teach sculpture classes as a volunteer in the children's grade school, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Through her work as a Wildlife Rehaber as a volunteer in Rocky Mountain National Park, she gained a clearer understanding of Feathered and Furry little bodies.

Now at home in Estes Park, Colorado, Bonnie has built an ecclectic body of bronze work, including architecture hardware, custom air cleaner covers and decorative hardware for motorcycles, portraiture, wildlife and monumental bronzes.

In 1999, Bonnie was commissioned by the graduating class at Estes Park High School, to create a bust of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to give to the school as their Class Gift. She was, at that time, one of only three sculptors who had been given permission by the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Non-Violent Social Change to recreate Dr. King's likeness.

On January 31st of 2004, Bonnie's statue of Enos Mills (Founder of Rocky Mountain National Park) and his dog Scotch were dedicated. In June of 2004, the State of Colorado Legislature, declared Janurary 31st Enos Mills Day. This monument can be seen in Bond Park as a tribute to the great leader.

In 2009, by joint resolution of the Colorado House and Senate, the Enos Mills statue is to be placed on the Denver State Capitol grounds. An unprecedented tribute to an individual.
